"If I were to suggest that between the Earth and Mars there is a china teapot revolving about the sun in an elliptical orbit, nobody would be able to disprove my assertion provided I were careful to add that the teapot is too small to be revealed even by our most powerful telescopes. But if I were to go on to say that, since my assertion cannot be disproved, it is an intolerable presumption on the part of human reason to doubt it, I should rightly be thought to be talking nonsense. If, however, the existence of such a teapot were affirmed in ancient books, taught as the sacred truth every Sunday, and instilled into the minds of children at school, hesitation to believe in its existence would become a mark of eccentricity and entitle the doubter to the attentions of the psychiatrist in an enlightened age or of the Inquisitor in an earlier time."

What do you guys think of the 3, they all pretty much work along the same lines.

Does this belief help to make you a better, happier, more contented person? Does this belief make sense of life?

If believing in the teapot makes you happy and content and helps to make sense of life then go ahead, beleive in the teapot.

I would, however add, please do not become an evangelical teapotist. Trying to shove a teapot down everyone's throats is against the very teachings of the Great Tea Brewer.

'Government-subsidized schools don't exclude children whose parents prefer the wrong shape of teapot. Teapot-believers don't stone teapot-unbelievers, teapot-apostates, teapot-heretics and teapot-blasphemers to death. Mothers don't warn their sons off marrying teapot-shiksas whose parents believe in three teapots rather than one. People who put the milk in first don't kneecap those who put the tea in first.'

I would love to be called a teapit heretic - but i simply love tea a little to much.
Though putting the milk in first does makes very little sense.. >.>

What tea bags do they use?

I get your point Bee, its something ive said my self before, we can only comprehend what we have been taught, the human mind is just like a computer, a computer can do zilch, untill its been firstly formatted, and then a suitable programed installed, and even then it can only deal with the data of the type the program was written for.

Thats why ive said before education is indoctrination.

A good example is perhaps David Ike saying there are shape shifting beings on earth, it sounds too bizarre to even waste time thinking about. Why does it sound bezarre? Because we have never been taught any thing even vaguely like it before, we think because we have not been taught it, it can not exist.

Thats how most people think until they learn to break free and start to think out side the box, reformat your mind, and start from scratch, take the other track and say "well i have never heard of that before, but you never know it just MIGHT be true.

Our basic education is our minds being formatted and then our education installs the programs they want us to deal with.

Easy init, well my tric cyclist says it is any way. Chortle.gif

Another similar but now already excepted situation would be the flat earth idea, it was taught to the brain dead majority that the world was flat, till one guy broke free and thought out side the box and said bollox the world is round not flat, its round, then one dummy shouts, oh no it not its flat, so all the brain dead majority jump on the bandwagon and shout the same thing, so the intelligent guy is thought of as a nutter, and all the brain dead majority think they are intelligent. What a world we live in, when all the dummies are thought of as clever, and all the clever people are thought of as dumb, Go figure.

Its the age old trick of, keep then stupid, but make them think they are intelligent. easy init.

They are planning an expidition to land on the teapot just to answer the question of what pattern is on the other side.

Is is like the face we see...a blue willow pattern, or are there other variations. There's also a suspicion that the tea bags used were triangular and not round (Such as Ty-Phoo) bringing the whole "Where did the Egyptians get the idea for the pyramids from" into the argument.
