.......................... moral of the story is right there children!

That's just madness , I'm sure there's been cases before of people dying due to drinking excessive amounts of water .

What the hell were the organisers thinking of ? . Especially not letting them go to the loo .

So sad that she did it to win a prize for her kids , Then paid the ultimate price . sad.gif

She didn't die because she held in her pee she died because she drank so much water that it poisoned her.
A completely irresponsible competition for a company to run.

It's all well and good them being told they don't have to do it and "don't put your health at risk" but how many people know the health risks and know that drinking lots of water can kill you?

Come on, it takes a pretty stupid person to die of drinking too much water.

There's something to be said for personal responsibility for one's actions.

Bit harsh , The lady involved obviously wasn't aware of the health risks or i doubt she would've done it , I'm imagining she'd far rather still be around for her kids .

Surely the company that ran/organised this competition should take responsibility for not checking out the health risks first .

The irresponsibility lies with them first i think .

I bet I can think of a Lawyer who wouldn't mind representing her family.

here, here zoro.its about time people started realising that were ultimately responsible for what happens to us.any substance is poisonous if enough of it is ingested in a big enough quantity.the current blame culture is a joke, blame someone else they should of told us we were being stupid.if the radio station are irresponsible for holding the competition,it makes the woman even more stupid and irresponsible for entering it.the woman could've accessed the same information about the effects of drinking too much water as the radio station could've.

Radio stations are forever trying to come up with novel promotional ideas to increase listener figures and generate commercial revenue

I remember a few years ago a radio station in the UK ran a competition to see who could sit on the ice at an ice rink for the longest time.

The eventual 'winner' had severe ice burns to their arse and couldn't sit down for weeks.

Certainly not me.

I would be the one defending the corporation being sued.

And the decedent is from Sacramento, California -- I'm not admitted to the California bar, walker is.

Joking aside, a good local plaintiff's trial lawyer who knows the mindset of the local jury pool could hit this case for a big verdict -- not that such verdict would be just.
