Full Version: Why Doesn't Someone Snatch up Tevez and Macherano?

Argentinian internationals Carlos Tevez, a 22 year-old striker, and Javier Mascherano, a 22 year-old midfielder, have been inexplicably languishing on the West Ham bench whilst the starters have headed the club toward relegation. What foolishness not to play these two.

I have read that Rafa Benitez is interested in Mascherano.

One apparent problem is a rule that players cannot play for three clubs in the same year. Both Tevez and Mascherano came to West Ham from Brazilian club Corinthians at the beginning of this season. There must be a way around such rule.

The two are Argentina national team members and quality players who performed well during the most recent World Cup.

A smart manager should snatch them both from West Ham.

Any new team wishing to purchase has the right to appeal to UEFA (or Fifa???) about the 2 club thing.

Think the two have recieved a lot of grief since West Ham's poor form appears to have begun once they arrived at Upton Park. It could be that they are a contributing factor but I think it's more of the original squad not pulling their weight.

Juventus where rumoured to be after Mascherano but lost interest.

FIFA could block Mascherano move

It's difficult to blame West Ham's poor performance on Mascherano and Tevez being that they have been hardly used.

Mascherano has appeared in only 5 matches in total, 3 as a starter and 2 as a substitute. I don't know his total minutes on the pitch, but they're very low.

Tevez appeared in only 13 matches in total, 7 as a starter and 6 as a substitute. Again, his total minutes have to be low.

Recall that both these players started for Argentina in the 2006 World Cup Finals and played well.

When a team's regular squad is playing the team into relegation, one would think that these two would have been given a bit more playing time -- they are definitely not worse than those who played instead of them.

Makes no sense not to play them, but if that be the case, West Ham should let them go to a better side where -- interestingly -- they will see more playing time.

I agree, it's difficult to understand as Tevez, in particular, looks a decent player

Both are good players imo , Looked decent enough in the World cup , West Ham are plagued by off field trouble this season , Boardroom ructions etc . They sacked Pardew and Curbishley is faring no better .

Apparently West Ham now have an injury crisis , But i bet these two won't get a game , At the match yesterday Zamorra after scoring was deemed to be insulting the crowd by cupping his hands behind his ears , In a 'Well that shut you up barracking me' gesture .

Reo Coker has apparently received hate mail from Hammers fans , And the club , Supporters and boardroom seem to all be going in different directions .

West Ham want to be greatful there's Watford and Charlton this year (Both doomed already i think) Maybe they can scrap away from the last relegation place .

If they don't i bet a whole host of players will leave , And god knows how they'll fare in the championship then .
