I got glasses for driving about 2 years ago. I didnt want them, i wanted contacts but i just couldnt 'do' them. I went for two sessions trying to put them in. I could get them in ok but not out. Squeezing your eye? No thanks.
Do you use either?

I wear glasses and I like them sometimes but I hate having my picture taken whilst I'm wearing them!

I need glasses for extended reading and pc use, if I needed them all the time I would most probably get contacts.
I've worn coloured contacts in the past, I had no problem putting them in or taking them out.... after the first 20 attempts

btw, you don't need to squeeze your eye to get them out, just put your finger on the contact, slide it to the corner of your eye and out it comes

I wear contacts all the time. It was some years ago when I last had a pair of glasses. My daughter broke them and I thought 'that's too expensive to have a repeat experience'. People don't even realise I am short-sighted.

I'm in the same boat as scorpy, tried them and couldn't get them out. i found putting them in not to bad, but getting them back out again was a nightmare. The optition said it was just a matter of getting used to it, but i gave up after a week. Also i did'nt like the feel of them either.

And I, of course, would argue it is the other way round

I use contacts most of the time, and glasses late evening/early morning, before/after I put them in... I found contacts tricky at first as well, but you really do get past the "ick" factor with a bit of practise... then it just becomes automatic. I don't even need a mirror now!

I've always worn glasses and hate the thought of having to put anything in my eye

It's glasses for me. I need them for reading and driving.I only started wearing them a few years ago. I'd put off getting my eyes tested for ages but I finally succumbed.
The first time I put the glasses on it was like... oh fuck, this is brilliant, this is proper vision. It was like I'd dropped a trip- everything was so clear and had so much detail.
