Sending PMs
Note: PM's mean personal messages. Anyone found posting a PM on the forum will have it removed. Anyone persistantly posting PMs on the board will be issued a warning.
Note: There is no 'log' of PM's seen by mods or administrators, therefore they cannot be read by anyone else other than the sender and the recipient, unless they are forwarded or copied to other people.
Note: Advertising in PM's is forbidden. If you receive such a PM, please notify a member of staff.
Find the person you wish to send a message to. Click on their name and click on 'send personal message' in the 'communicate' part of their profile
- or -
find one of their posts and click on 'PM' underneath their avatar.
Alternately, you can click on 'My Controls', 'compose new message' and type the recipients name into the repipient box.
Whatever you do, you will eventually see a posting box with a box with the recipients name above it. Normal members cannot send carbon copies to other members at the same time.
You must enter a message title, otherwise the PM will not send.
If you wish to save a copy of the PM, check the 'Add a copy of this message' box.
If you wish to check when someone has read your PM, check the 'Track this message?' box.
When you receive a PM, you will be notified in two ways.
1 The link at the top right saying "0 new messages" will have a number instead of a zero
2 You will receive a kind of pop up which will appear once at the top of the page.
If you do not wish to receive PM's, you can disable it altogether by going to 'My controls, Options, Board settings'
If you do not wish to receive PM's from certain people, go to 'My controls, Messenger, PM Buddies/Block list'. Input the members name and select 'no'
Are you having trouble sending a PM to someone? See here. However if you have more than 5 posts, then the person you are trying to send to probably as a full inbox. Feel free to post on the board asking them to clear it.
