my wife decided to slim, told her that i would buy her whatever peice of jewellery she wanted if she got to a certain weight, she wasn't overly big but she's small so she looks bigger than she is, anyway it worked for a while she like idea that she would go in with an open wallet but then she got pregnant so it all stopped. oh well..

trust casserole is pretty easy, chuck all your veg in chopped up,water stock then just simmer it.if you like it thicker put a bit of suet in but i mean a bit or you will kill the taste.if your still stuck give us a sgout and i will post instructions.the longer you simmer it the thicker it gets, this time of year its great warms you up.

Nov 17 2006, 12:46 PM
if you use lentils these, should thicken it up without the need for beef suet. you can add any veg, but remember the harder the veg is the more it will hold it's shape, things like cauliflour break up easy, i use 2 veg stock cubes and enough water to cover the veg, i also add a little chille power to give it a small kick,(pre soaked lentils are easest to use and can be added straight away with the veg and stock)
cook on the hob for about 25 mins you don't want to overcook, as you are not using meat and will not add to the flavour, but end up with soup, if you want to make it into a soup you can use softer veg, cook the same and blend until you like the texture. cooking without meat takes less time.

It depends on your definition of poverty, if your definition of poverty is that you dont have enough money for the latest playstation game, or you dont have enough money to buy your kids the latest trainers that are in fashion, or you can only go to kfc once a week with your dole money, then yes there is lots of poverty in this country. If like me your definition of poverty is people starving to death on the streets and living on wages of £2 per week, working in sweat shops for 100hrs a week, then the thought that there is any real poverty in this country is laughable.

No it isn't. But the Country is full of Right Wing ignorami like FBG, and there's no telling them that. They'd rather pay 10X as much to keep men in Prison than see one person get the Basic Benefits they need. So now the Government won't give people their Basic Benefit entitlements, and the Prisons are bursting at the seams.

You do get the basic benefits under the welfare system of this country, the thing with you left wing idiots is that you think the world owes you a living. And how do you know my thoughts on the penal system of this country ? I would not keep all the prisoners in prison, I would release all the nonses, rapists and crack heads to live down your street Dream, so you could rehabilitate them.

Example of ignorant Right Wing bigotry there. As I said there's no telling the likes of you.
ok sunshine, you tell me what basic benefits are missing under the welfare system then ? dont they supply you with enough online time then

What Makes This Fat Burning Breakthrough So Exciting is That it Gives You The Power To... Lose fat permanently. It's a fact - 95% of the people who go on conventional diets gain all the weight back and sometimes they end up fatter than when they started. Now you can learn how to be in the successful 5% group that keeps it off forever.
Lose body fat without wrecking your metabolism. If you've ever started a diet, then smashed into the dreaded "plateau," it's probably because you cannibalized your own muscle and slowed down your metabolism.
Not only will this system teach you the only way to prevent your metabolism from crashing, you will also learn more than a dozen ways to fire up your "metabolic engine" and accelerate your body's natural rate of calorie-burning.
Lose fat without drugs. When you mention bodybuilders, some people think of steroids or fat burning drugs.
It's sad but true - most pro bodybuilders take them. But the joke's on them.
Drugs work, but the results are temporary and the side effects are nasty.
The tiny handful of natural bodybuilders who have learned how to use training
and nutrition science to alter body composition without drugs are the only people
in the world who keep their
fat loss and muscle gains permanently.
Now you can learn these fat burning secrets from a natural bodybuilding
champion who knows from real-world experience exactly how it's done.

Just airing some thoughts..
Someone on my facebook today is raving about how he's lost almost a stone in a week, on slimfast. Well done to him. I know very well how losing weight makes you feel so good. But someone asked him if it was safe and someone else replied that you get more of the right nutrients with slim fast than you would eating normal food. Great. But what happens when he weens himself off and goes back to norma, even healthy food?
Two women at work lost several stones each on a different drink slimming program (think it was lighter life..?). One women lost 3 stone in two months and the other lost more but i dont remember how much. The first women left our office before she hit her target weight so i dont know how she ended up but the second women put it all back on and more after stopping the shakes and eating proper food.
I'm 5'7 and at my heaviest i was a size 22 weighing 15 stone. I tried Adios and Alli and both made me so constipated and bloated it was awful. I also tried some dodgy diet pills off the internet and they gave me such bad heartburn. I've actually done slimfast several times over the years but couldnt stick to it. Eventually i lost 3 stone, getting down to 11 stone 10 and that was by cutting out alot of carbs. I never got to a weight i was fully comfy with but i was happy so i stopped trying and eventually a just over a stone piled back on. Strangely enough i felt heavier then, than i ever did when i was 15 stone.
This time i've lost a stone and a half through calorie counting and i'm loving it. I'm not cutting out anything and in actual fact i'm having to increase the amounts of protein and fibre that i'm having as apparently i dont usually get enough. The main thing is the website i record it all on and it tells me how much of each nutrient i should be getting. Its so helpful. Last night we had a curry.. today i made a chocolate cake, for example so i'm definitely not cutting out anything. When i'm cooking from scratch, i try to make things as low fat as possible, and If i'm having a big dinner then i just watch the calories and allow for it before hand.
Surely thats healthier?

I always thought fast weight loss is bad for your body - I'm pretty sure you shouldn't try to lose more than a couple of pound in a week. And the faster it comes off the faster it goes back on.

If you're looking to slim nothing compensates for good ol' cardio. My dearest mum dropped 2 dress sizes just by walking instead of driving and getting off the tube one stop early and walking the rest of the way into work (apparently it also saved her money because of zones or some double bonus). If you're in fairly good shape already take up gentle jogging and set a goal. It's nearly race for life time (happens over summer) and it's a lovely cause, a really moving event and you can walk/jog/run 5k. It's one of the more relaxed charity races so I'd say sign up to it and then although you know you do have the walking option, it will make you feel inclined/panicked to push into a jog/run.
If cardio isn't for you make sure you don't try to diet too excessively at the start, even if you lose weight quickly at the beginning when you reward yourself the calories will go on even heavier than before because your body will try and compensate, effectively you'll yo yo. Think a few people have already effectively said this.
Although it's not healthy cutting carbs is the way to burn fat. No/less carbs=body forced to burn fat. I used to be a competitive swimmer and ate whole plates of pasta everyday, this did not do me favours when I stopped swimming. I found making the pasta a side rather than a main base made a difference.
Oh yeah also what worked a few pounds was eating a heavier brekkie, medium lunch and light dinner (pre 7pm although not sure if that's just a myth). Before I ate the quantities in reverse so I was stuffed post dinner.
