Who do you play and where?

I dabbled in Role Playing on a forum for a while, but the problem was moderators/Dungeon masters. They tended to get bored and abandon adventures/scenarios half way through.

Or people (players) would go overboard and mess the game up with things like..... *The Mouser stabs all the other members of the group while they sleep and robs their money*

i've been into RPG's for years, i find them a lot better to be played for real rather than over the internet. its a lot more fun to see someones face when you crush there main character.

There main character?
You play RPG in real life? That is a contradiction in terms. One would enjoy seeing you crush someone with your vocabulary.

The thing I used to like seeing on RPG games/forums was when they advertised a new adventure and asked for players.

The following is not true (much) but an exaggeration of the kind of thing that went on sometimes. No dungeon master would allow this kind of thing to happen.

Hello I'm john and I've never played this before but I'd like to register my brand new Chtr "Magnus the magnificent mage of MYTHRERP"

Magnus: Magic User 21st level. Wisest and the most intellegent man on the planet. Magnus is also immortal. He has never had a spell fail and all men and women recognise him as a natural leader. He never walks anywhere but has an ancient Gold Dragon fly him wherever he wants. This dragon will obey his every whim and would gladly die for him (as would anyone else). He can see in absolute darkness and has infra-hearing which lets him hear anything anywhere. He speaks all known and unknown languages fluently and there are no text he cannot decypher instantly. He also has a pet Demon at his command at all times. Altough he never has to fight hand to hand Magnus has the strength of eight men, the consitution of ten men and is a master swordsman that all men fear. Magnus can also read minds and fly over short distances at the speed of light and is immune to heat and cold. Magnus never has to eat as he takes his energy direct from the cosmos. he also never has to sleep.

I miss the mud sites which had nothing to do with wrestling. Text and turn based fantasy hack and slash games loosely based upon American ideas about what life was life in medieval times or totally warped out in a space kind of setting.

Purely in the interests of self gratification, of a non sexual variety, I've been off discovering what exactly exists in terms of free playing games. Though I have to add that these veer more towards the strategy of build up fast and hit hard.

Lordsoflegend is a turn based game where you start off with some gold and are advised to use it to produce buildings or maintain an army with which you attack other players. Believe me it can get addictive though its certainly not a graphical game.

Tradelair is set in space and the aim is to produce resources by mining and then building up a fleet of spaceships and defence/attack ships and follows a similar vein to LoL ;-) again its not a graphical game. Actually after a bit of play I'd have too say don't bother with this one!

This is a free download to enable play and there is a comphrensive guide included. After downloading you don't have to revist the site unless its to obtain additional info. Darkswords is pretty good as it is a graphical game unlike the others.

It's actually pretty good with over 260 levels of play and has a slightly different levelling method that gives you the freedom to choose which additional stats you'd like for your character.

Now having emerged once more from the games closet I can reveal my latest discovery..




Click on that and you'll find yourself in another familiar themed game though this one is multi player and restricted by the amount of petrol you can produce....psssssst you put the petrol into your attack vehicles. It's quite a good game but don't forget to have a good defense...create as many hero's as you can afford as quickly as possible and don't forget to repair damaged buildings or people....yours of course!

^rhyn just wanted to say thanks for posting these they look sound.i was wondering have you ever played guild wars.they re sort off fantasy rpg,you just buy the game there is no subscription.massive game play involved on your own or in teams.if you already do play guild let me know you re character and we will play link up online and kick some butt.thanks for the links mate.
