I read a book called "The Forever War" by Joe Halderman...it was SUPERB...So when I heard he'd written a follow on "Forever Free" I rushed out to buy it, and it was a dog of a book. The storyline he'd built up in his inital book was completely ignored and quite what he was trying to say completely escaped me. "Forever Free" is one of the few books I've ever thrown away.

The worst book I read that I can of was one that I never bothered finishing, and the name of which I can't remember - but I remember that it was sci fi, that it was written in 1973 but is actually highly regarded today, and that it was the biggest load of pretentious shite I've ever had the misfortune to spend any significant time in the same room with.

Ive been try to think, of all the books ive read, ive never stopped reading one untill the end. Actually thats not true, there was a discworld book i stopped halfway through, the one after Carpe Jugulum, not that it was a bad book, just think i reached discworld overdose status. I havent picked one up since. wacko.gif
