Do you ever imagine yourself as one of the characters from some book you've read? Is there one that you especially relate to?

I always imagined myself as the pilot and anti-hero Grainger from the "Hooded Swan" series by Brian M. Stableford. He was a cynical and world weary character just trying to get on with his life.

Then again I related to 'Oscar' from Robert Heinlens book "Glory Road", a swashbuckling modern man in alternative universes, with a mild case of culture shock thrown into the bargain.

All of which is a far cry from the character that my partner likened me to when posed the question. She says I'm more like Toad out of "Wind in the Willows"...mostly because I've got "The attention span of a gnat on LSD".

for me, when i was a kid, I didnt really want to be a character, just me, but with all of the jedi knights powers. Years later when the star wars saga hit the PC i was first in the cue, boy was i good with a light saber. Still whish i could strangle some people with the power of thought. *concentrating real hard*
