These are apparently the two most popular social networking sites these days. If you use one or both, which do you use?
Please dont just post a one word answer. Those kind of posts are all too common on this forum, and possibly partly a reason for its demise.
Why do you use them? They are comparably very different and apparently attract different kinds of people

I'm on Facebook, even though I don't like social networking sites as a whole. As for Twitter, why would we want to know that you've just cut your own toenails!

You can post that you are cutting your toenails on both. So why do you use one but not the other? Why dont you like social networking?

True, but Twitter seems more of the correct place to do it really. I've never been keen on social network sites as they can become a problem if you get too engrossed in them and then have an arguement with someone. Sure, it's a good way to find new friends, as I've done myself, but sometimes it's just a drag.
Take MySpace for example, people can "pimp" up their profiles, but yet they don't think about how long it'll take for the whole page to load. With Facebook, you've got those games and invites to stuff you don't want.
Sure, I'm on Facebook myself, but it's just to say I've got Facebook. I'm also on a few Furry Social Networking sites, mainly to talk to people and meet new people, but if I had a choice, I'd quit them all as they can be a time waster at times.

I dont get Twitter it's just not accessible enough for me. I joined up but I follow a darts company, and that's it. None of my friends are on there and to be honest I dont see the point of posting if nobody follows what I say (hmmmmm sound familiar??).
In terms of Facebook I generally only go on to play some of the games on there even though they too are now starting to lose some appeal. The problem with Facebook is that most of the people I know on there are from work and just want to talk work to me when I have more than enough of that 9-5.

Facebook for me. I joined twitter a couple of years ago and have made 41 posts. I never use it, it's boring. Facebook allows you to upload pictures, play games and also have a natter at the same time. Nowt better than that

I've not heard anything about it and if it was true, I'd quit using it and even think about going to Twitter which is something I'd never do!

I really wish people would stop saying that. I cant believe the gullible people who join those groups saying they wont pay. Who the hell started the ridiculous rumour? I dont know it as a fact but of course they arent gonna charge. I mean come on.

I use both. I use FB to talk to my friends. I use Twitter because I'm trying to understand what benefit I will get from it. I've been trying for several months now and I don't think I am getting any benefit.
However, on FB I don't try to promote my magazine. On Twitter, just like thoudands of other businesses, I do.
So, for people who are not trying to promote their businesses, maybe FB is best

I use facbook and Twitter. FAcebook I use for socialising with friends and checking out peoples photos. I use Twitter more for business and posting interesting content I find.

I was on both but I've just deleted my Twitter for similar reasons to the poster above. Who cares about people cutting their toenails. I did rather a lot of twittering about #bgt and things that get up my nose like litter, but do my 46 followers care about my comments?
I'm still on FB for now but really it's not much use. Apart from a couple of friends on there why should I bother?
I'd rather social network through forums but they tend to be feast or famine. Sometimes it's garbage overload and sometimes nobody posts anything.
p.s. I'm just trying this forum out by the way.

I recently took the decision to close my FB account and I am astounded how much status is seemingly attached to my name being in various peoples "friends list" - people who I thought had more intelligence if I am honest. My father-in-law emailed my gf to ask her why I was no longer on his friend list, the man lives in Portugal and has spoken to me 3 times in 4 years! Last night one of my close friends emailed the gf also asking why I was no longer on his list? What? Try picking the phone up - knob!

I saw this on another site I visit and it just sums FB up perfectly for me.
