Ok for those of you have have been living in a galaxy far far away this week, her she is.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luRmM1J1sfg...e=rec-HM-rev-rnWhat I would like to know is how this woman with probably the most incredable voice I've ever heard has gone undiscovered for so long? This woman could have easily walked into any audition and clinched a deal with any producer way before BGT was around, I reckon she's way better than Elane Page.

She shocked me to the core, it just shows how decisive I can be before I even give them a chance I thought she was just another no hoper. I felt so bad for thinking that after I saw her performance

I was listening to that young lad on Real Radio this morning, he was bloody awful, saw Susan Boyle on the Larry king show, she gave a short rendition of My Heart will go on, which was very good, she can obviously sing in any circumstance.

Trouble is, there are hundreds & hundreds of girls & women who can sing beautifully, just as well as Susan Boyle. She will probably do very well for a short while because of the massive media exposure, but to be a lasting success she needs something else. We all know what that is & as shallow as it seems, it's a universal requirement.

She has a good voice, the only reason she has received this much exposure is because she turned up looking like a horse in a dress but sang much better than she looked. She would never have gotten looked at anywhere else because music nowadays is as much about looks and appearances as opposed to any real talent (Lady Gaga - case in point WTF????).
Good luck to her, milk it for all it's worth luv! The media have gone way over the top but it's all money in someone's pocket and a few quid will end up in her post office savings account after it's all blown over.

Couldn't agree more...she is good but she's not great!!
If she was 25 and nice looking there wouldn;t be this much fuss over her voice....
Rach227
Apr 24 2009, 12:23 PM
Are you joking? I love her voice n if she was 25 and nice looking she may not be AS popular but she would go far

Apr 24 2009, 12:25 PM
Nah...theres loads of singers who can sing as well as her....
I've heard kids in school concerts that can sing that well...but cos theres no gimmick to mark them out they wouldn;t get a look in.

Apr 24 2009, 12:29 PM
Now that she's had her make over, the BGT people are apparently panicking cos her being all hairy and unfashionable was her gimmick.
I agree with you Sal, she's good but no better than anyone else. The only reason people have gone mad is because of how she looks and that they didnt expect her to sing like that. What interests me more is where she comes from cos my ex was from there so i know the village well

On Youtube there her singing Cry me A River....people are raving over it...but...theres nothing original about it....(hark at me, Simon Cowell) its just a well sung copy of loads of other peoples interpretations!

Hey check this out.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/news/2009/0...15875-21301644/her family look like the cast from Ryans Daughter, I'm half expecting John Hurt to stagger in. I think this year's Britain's got Talent lays bare our obsession with perfection. On one end you have stunning young actress/singer Miley Cyrus, with looks and a body most other celebs would die for, and on the other end you have the likes of Susan Boyle, absolutely nothing to look at, but can sing beaufifully,
I think the world of Ugly and beautiful are about to clash.

Yeah but you're forgetting Micky, the Spice Girls couldn't sing to save their lives, but that never stopped them from becoming successful. The video is poor sound quality, stick her in a proper recording studio, and it'd be a different story.

What a wonderful breath of fresh air that young ballerina/singer was. Loved the face Simon pulled when she started to sing, think he was a bit gobsmacked.

Yeah she's very good. I thought it was great when the judges appeared slightly bored by her dancing, thinking that was all she did.
I thought Diversity were great too
And DJ Talent..

I'm loving this series. I don't know why they got rid of Kelly Brooke. She looked OK to me, and is much better looking than Amanda Holden.
Can't remember the little girl obviously she had made a huge impression
No one has really stood out for me in this contest yet. But it's early days

This is all getting all too much now for some of these stars, last night Hollie Steel, took a fall, and now there's speculation that Susan Boyle has cracked under the pressure. What do you guys think.
Rach227
May 30 2009, 12:18 PM
nah susan boyle hasnt she's like a kid at christmas, I mean did ya see her on stage? lol I felt so sorry for the lil kid I wanted to give her the BIGGEST hug EVER lol
Jason Chapman
May 30 2009, 01:08 PM
I think its a case of pushy parents in the case of little Hollie. Sure if you have a child that's a good singer, you should encourage them. But to thrust them out on a show watched millions and expect them to perom like a trained dog is a bit much. When I start a family I'll proabbly encourage my kids to suceed academically, the world needs good scientists. The pressure on this sweet little girl was enormous last night all to much for her to bare, poor thing.
There reckon its all sewn up for Susan Boyle, but to be honest I thought her performance the other night was shaky at best. That twelve year old lad from Swansea is a bit of a cool cucumber, he seems to be lapping up the limelight. That father and son Greek dance act is good entertainment.
Don't know whether I'll watched it tonight, it looks a little too much like cringe TV, but I think the other half will have it on. Now where did I put those ear plugs?

Forget that, she's had outbursts in the hotel when the judges have complimented her rivals on the tv

I hope she doesnt win. It'll make things more interesting. She definitely had the timing wrong at the beginning of the song

in that case it's gone to her head that she thinks she is better than the others... not pressure

May 31 2009, 08:33 AM
I didn't watch it, but I have just been looking at the news, a surprise to be sure. I noticed susan boyle sung the same song she sung at the audition, I thinks its the only song she can sing properly. Oh well that's that for another year, soon be X Factor time!

Questions have to be asked of the shows production company. This "zero to hero" thesis is quite clearly damaging to some individuals. The fastrack process this show encourages by the very nature of what it is aired for is flawed. Established stars such as Amy Wineface and Pete Doherty have their own excesses to cope with stardom as we have seen.
