wasn't a huge fan of this when it was going, it was funny but I never got addicted. Dave is screening a special on the weekend, 'Red Dwarf returns to Earth' I'll have look.

Oh right, at first i thought that was some obscure RD reference. tongue.gif

Used to watch it, even though it was a bit before my time. Was never a massive fan, but i'd watch it if it was on. Although Cat was pure brilliance. "Im looking nice, wait im looking better than nice IM LOOKIN DANGEROUS!!!!"

Danny John Jules (Cat) has a job on CBeebies apparently. I have serious reservations as to whether this can be any good 10 years on. Remember the attempt to revive Blackadder? I hope it's great and I will def be tuning in - but there is a huge nagging doubt in my brain.

I hope it is not just an attempt to revive interest in the film that so very nearly was a reality. Only one of the writers is doing it this time round so it remains to be seen if this cult classic can still pull the punches nowadays.

Every now and then I go to the memorabillia show in Birmingham, Craig Charles is always there signing autographs, although I should think more Corrie fans want to talk to him these days.

The only episode I laughed out loud at is where they land on that planet where everything runs backwards, and Cat has to take a dump right at the end. I just didn't get the humour sometimes.

I don't know whether the BBC has sold the rights to Red Dwarf which is why its being shown on Dave, I would have thought with the Dr Who special this weekend it would have really pulled in the veiwers if it would have been on BBC2. Not everyone has satellite, or digital yet, so fingers on the download link.

Well Dave is owned by uktv, and uktv is partly owned by the bbc, so i doubt they have too much trouble gaining the rights to showing bbc stuff (seeing virtually everything they show is bbc stuff).

But i watched some episodes of red dwarf before, and i liked them, if there isn't too much else on i can see myself putting it on

saw it last night. its lost its humour. But it did leave it enough for me to watch it tonight.

Yeah JC I was the same. We watched and it was a far cry from what it used to be. I think Craig Charles has lost the character of Lister and Chris Barrie wasnt the same as Rimmer. Danny John Jules kept it going for me as the Cat. Fingers crossed for tonight.

Sadly mate you hit the nail right on the head, it was nothing on the origional it was a right sack of s***. I will watch all 3 out of loyalty to the origional but Charles is washed up and wooden, f*** knows how he got on corry. I was really hoping that this would be great cry2.gif

It sort of managed to go where I wanted it to by obviously leaving it open for another series but they just lost the root of Red Dwarf when they went oFf ship and back to earth. Red Dwarf is brilliant because of the isolation of the 4 on that ship drifting around the galaxy, getting into scrapes with wierd lifeforms. Once they get put back amongst humans it just loses all that and somehow just doesnt work anymore.

I thought it did improve in the 2nd part but just went away again in the final part. It's never going to be as good as it was the first time around so I for one shall stick with the re-runs.
