Full Version: Big Bang A New Look.

Those who are following the fun in the religious section will know that we’ve taken the discussion back to the “Big Bang” and the universes origins. Citing the humorous line “In the beginning there was nothing, which then exploded for no explainable reason.” (note: That line is one of Douglas Adams from the Hitchhiker series, and D.A. describes himself as a radical atheist.)

At first glance it looks like science is stymied and has no answer to the question “Why did it explode?” (the primal atom). But that may not be the case for much longer, there’s a theory being banded about among the big thinkers, and it’s one I subscribe to, mostly because I thought of exactly the same theory, and it’s been knocking about in my head for some years now. I’ll try to explain….

In the beginning there was nothing, not even time, space AND NOT EVEN THE PRIMAL ATOM!...nowt, zip, nada, bugger all.

That is the state of play in what will come to be our universe.

Next door (metaphorically speaking) something is placing matter under an intolerable strain, much like we are doing in the CERN collider, or what occurs in a black hole. The compressed matter from “next door” gets shoved out of that space and looks for a new home with elbow room.

It finds “Ours”. It suddenly is under no pressure, the laws constraining it are gone, in fact there suddenly are no laws…..It…EXPANDS!

And that is how the “Big Bang” came to be.

So far it’s just speculation, bordering on science fiction, but science fiction has a habit of becoming reality, or you wouldn’t be reading this.

Aye it does indeed. My favorite example of this is a science fiction writer from the 40's-70's called Issac Asimov. It amazing how many of his story's have actually developed into theories and practical applications. He's pretty much the father of robotics.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)

I don't believe in the "Big Bang".

It just doesn't feel right.

'Creation' is more feasible.

God, never thought I'd believe that !!!

What created the creator?
