Last night saw the first part of the adaptation of David Peace's trilogy of novels on police corruption in 1970's and 1980's Yorkshire. I thought it was a wonderfully dark and gritty portrayal of life in the seedy world of journalism and police corruption with Sean Bean on sterling form as a twisted property developer. If the representation of Yorkshire in 1974 was anywhere near accurate then I for one am pleased to have been born this side of the Pennines!

Anybody else catch this? Part 2 is on Thursday 12th March at 9pm on Channel 4.
