I have to say I’m really impressed with a lot of the films this year and its only early March too.
I went to see Slumdog Millionaire and The curious case of Benjamin Button last month. However, what impressed me the most was Grand Torino, which I saw last night – its the best film I have seen in a long time.
What films are you guys looking forward to this year?

Star Trek, looks interesting
Although I have to say Transformers 2 looks awsome. I might have a look at that Watchmen looks quite good. There's a film called GI Joe which looks really good out later this year. Other than that I think its going to be such a slow year for cinema.

Ok, I saw the new Star Trek Film today.
I was impressed by it, it wasn't a load of rubbish or anything like that, however thought the film was over too soon even though it was over two hours long. I recommend it to any fans of the Trek Franchise and it did leave it open for another film or a TV series, I guess we'll have to see.

I saw star trek too the other day, and i loved it.
I'd not seen much star trek before hand, the odd bit here on and there on tv.
I still got into it very easy, and thought there was plenty of build, back story and action.
I'd definitely recommend it to others, and would watch the next film.
I think it seemed the perfect length, and don't really see how they could of added anything more that would of benefitted the film.

The one thing that really impressed me about the film was the Enterprise itself. In all the other films and TV series the engine room is small compared to the size of the ship. But the engine room in the new Enterprise is massive, what you’d expect to find in an aircraft carrier or the Titanic and its very industrial looking, not shiny with computer panels all over the place.
The other part of the ship which knocked me for six was the shuttle bay, it was huge. Again as with the other films and TV series whenever you see the shuttle bay there are only two or three shuttles in the bay. There must have been a few dozen shuttles parked in the bay of the new ship it was massive. Everything was beefed up, they dedicated a whole section to communications, it wasn’t just Uhura sat behind one console chattering away it was a good dozen people, looked more like a call centre. And the sickbay is more what you’d expect to find in the most modern of hospitals. The one thing they did change which the jury is still out on with me is the bridge view screen, it was in fact a window looking out onto the front of the saucer section.
All in all though it was good film, did have any dull bits, it was action all the way through, it was a bit strange to see Lenard Nimoy as Spock again.
