Well as someone who lives in fear every time I see an OAP in one of those motorised buggy things which can be hired from Shopmobility car parks where I live, without any previous experience of being behind the wheel of a large and dangerous vehicle around pedestrians........I've had some very close misses with demented drivers in those on the high street......I am all for assessing before being allowed to use one Easylife..........even if it is some years in advance!!!!!!
Oh sorry, you didn't mean one of those.
Seriously, it sounds very mean to charge you for something if it is part of your job requirements.

they changed at all last year as a cost cutting exercise, the company i work for now pays half towards your courses, partly due to the fact that when they were free, everyone went on every course going because it was a good skive. the only problem is that there are 3 courses i need for my job, every other year you have to re-sit them, and in the other year you have to be assessed to make sure your doing the job right.
the pain is that i will have to fork out £500 next month for the 2 assessement that i cant do my job without, then on top of that £200 for the trolley course, which concidering ive used once in 18 months, dont make it good value for money. When i told the company i was not going for re-assessment as i didnt really need the ticket, i got told that i had to do it, just on the off chance i was needed to drive the trollies. Thats what really pissed me off, £200 on the off chance.
And to make matters worse, they are getting the assessor down for the day to make it cheaper for them, so i have to do all 3 on the same day, instead of spreading them out between now and november when the tickets run out. so that makes it £700 in one go. Looks like there wont be any food on the table that week.
