Aye, I must agree.
Although I find it fascinating I do think the BBC should have made the series longer, enabling him to do more on certain states. Some of them for example, he literally just drives through. I seem to remember him doing it to Wisconsin. I mean fair enough, it would take a hell of a long time to go into the depth the states of America truly disserve, but some sections are seriously lacking.
Although that is one of the main flaws of the program, I think it is absolutely fantastic. Steven Fry was a brilliant choice for this series, and from an English point of view I do think he is giving it justice. It reminds me allot of the series of programs Billy Connelly did a while ago. Did a series of travelling round Scotland, one on England and one on Australia.
How can you say "he is giving it justice" unless you know about life in America generally and life in each one of the 50 American states particularly?
America is not Scotland or England: the entire UK is smaller than the state of Oregon, one of the 50 states, and there are more than 300 million people in America of every race, ethnic background and religion.
Maybe he is doing an adequate job given his time and budgetary constraints, but you cannot credibly make the assessment.
Because i think he has given it justice as an outsider from an outsider point of view, which is the same position I'm in. Besides i think he showed the country in a fairly positive light. I'll admit, I don't think I know a huge amount about the US, but it provided a good introduction to the topic. I thought some of the stuff was fascinating, it truly is a beautiful country.
Have you even watched the series in question zoro? I notice in your final sentence you use the word "maybe" which inclines me to think you haven't. Thereby, how can you say i'm wrong? On a side note why do you insist on being aggressive to every response that isn't in agreement with your own opinion?
