I seem be having a problem getting drunk.

I never get to the point of being drunk, where i can no longer control my actions or what i am saying, but recently i can't even get tipsy. No matter how much i drink, i never get the feeling where i start being more talkative, and the slight fuzzy feeling that comes with it.

Has anyone ever experianced this? Is there something wrong with me or is this just perfectly normal?

Maybe you just use to alcohol in your system, so thats why it doesn't make you drunk..

drink a pint of vodka, if that doesn't do the trick then see your doctor. If you drink a pint of vodka, you should probably see your doctor anyway

Try Clear Spring 190 Grain Alcohol - it should deliver the goods.

You should have seen me in the doctors surgery a few weeks ago, and I hadn't been drinking.

I've been there. Question I have Jono (before I share my experience) - is are you trying to get drunk? I mean are you physically saying to yourself that "tonight I will get sh1tfaced!"?

Well as i said earlier, i rarely get into the state of being "shitfaced," but yea i am going out and saying to myself "Right, tonight im letting go."

Maybe you've "let go" too often and your body is too used to it?

It's proboably because you're making such a conscious effort that you are failing, trying too hard in some respects. Not saying you have but if something is playing on your mind it can affect your ability to enjoy socialising as normal. When I was splitting up with my wife I went through a period of hammering whiskey on nights out to absolutely no effect. I even got the reputation of being an "ale can" who could "hold his ale" - not soemthing I particularly wanted. Soon as I relaxed a bit I was back to my current 4 pints and I'm anybody's status.

Maybe time to give up for a while, and then when you do have a drink in a few months you'll feel it.

lol! your immune to alcohol.. icon_eek.gif

It's your body, if you drink lots of alcohol your body adapts to be used to it, if you dont drink for a while then drink you feel it... trust me lol

Thats true Rach, when I'm not drinking I make sure I have a drink now and again so that I'm able to drink when the situation arises. You don't want to go for a drink and be talking rubbish after 2 pints. At times when I've been drinking regularly (depends on the company), I would say that 4 pints is the equivelent to 1 pint if I haven't had a drink for a very long time.

I am actually on the wagon at present, nothing alcohol based has touched my lips for 3 months now and I don't miss it one bit at present. Not saying I will never drink again but at present it's not a part of my life.
