The comp this time is in aid of welcoming back our mod
Oolongcha.
You must create a card welcoming him back. In MS Paint.
The rules are -
- 530 wide by 630 long / high
- Must be done in Paint
- Must say "Welcome back Oolongcha" without the speech marks
- Any other text or images are allowed
- Spelling mistakes will render the entry invalid
- One entry per member
Entries must be sent by PM to me or AB76 by next Tuesday 3pm

What?

What a cop out. Its dead easy. Doesnt have to be anything fancy. If you can use whatever you use, you can stick a bit of text on paint

If you really wanted to you could knock something up in two mins

I chose to do it in paint so that more people could take part. Its that easy

I could do this with a photocopier on my head holding a small household pet under my chin whilst my hands were tied to my feet.
Short of changing it to an out and out painting comp and letting people send entries by post I dont see how much easier this could be made.

I'm not entering the competition (that would be silly), but below is my effort:
You'll notice that the chosen font is a witty - but sustained - critique on historical materialism, while the the background colour captures the perfectly a neo-functionalist approach to structuralism, reminiscent of the surrealism employed in Margritte's "ceci n'est pas une pipe". The radical take on framing the piece - using pink spray - repesents humanity's alienation, of course.

Of course its ok AB

. All entries to now be sent to me please

Greeting cards are more of a girl thing I'm not keen on them in the real world but
I would do one for one of the BUKF babes if they went and came back.

Aug 23 2008, 02:40 PM
For me, it was a hard decision between 2 and 3. 2 has really gone to town, using loads of the different tools that paint has.. where as 3 has been really inventive and pasted bits onto it, and the font is great
