The first photo competition is about a building. You must take a photo of a building, simple as that. Can be any building at all, at any time of the day or night.

Rules

Must be your own photo taken for this competition
Must not be a photo taken off the internet
Must not be edited in any way or have any borders etc. Just the image itself is what is required.
Image can be any size you like but not too big please
Must state the model of camera used

Send the entries to me by PM before 8pm next Sunday. After that i'll set up a poll for everyone to vote for the best. Winner gets f all as usual but its all about the taking part

so instead of who has the most expensive graphics equipment its whos got the most expensive camera?

I don't think it should matter how good quality it is, but what the image captures and .. stuff..

When I was in the Grand Canyon in 95 I didn't have a camera, so I brought one of those cardboard Kodak disposables. So there I was with my cardboard panoramic surrounded by people with their very expensive Cannon, Nikon, Olympus cameras, all laughing at me because all I had was a cardboard box.
Anyhow when I got home I took my camera to the local photo shop to get them developed, and wow were they fantastic. The guy in the shop said he had people coming in with really good cameras, and they couldn't get pictures as good as what my little cardboard camera took. So I guess the moral of this yarn is; 'The camera is only as good as its user'

I know exactly what iam taking a pic of i hope its allowed if not i have a second option we had a big new shopping center in Leicester looks realy lovely but thats my second option though hopefully when i put in my entry scorps will tell me if i can use it or not????

It just has to be a building Something that you can go inside and get shelter from and has a door. So not a gazeebo or the eiffel tower but could be a shed or a castle, house, factory etc

Yes it has to be a picture of it from outside. Doesnt have to be one of the things i said a few posts back. Those were just examples

I've an SLR camera with a 70 -210 zoom I used as a standard lens, I actually was told I was quite good with it...but it wasn't much use here was it? I was reduced to the camera on my mobile phone!

When picturing something like a building, black and white film was always best, colour was said to rob the image of it's texture (or whatever). Can you get digital cameras that work in black and white?

I feel i should say that entries 1 and 2 were exactly what i had in mind when i said "building". 3 and 4 are not what i meant, but nonetheless they are still pics of buildings, even though you cant see the whole thing, so since i didnt stipulate, i'll let it go (its always hard to imagine what people will come up with)

As soon as I figure out what No3 actually is I'm going to vote for it....how abstract.

I nearly used the Trafford Centre. We could have used the theme "Places To Shop"
