I'm sure this has been said in different places and if so, i cant find them. I'd like to know what everyone uses. Is the most popular one PSP?

I use GIMP and photoshop (or will do soon). If you've used a few, what are the differences, pro's and con's etc?
Babylon
I use paintshop pro X2 and animation shop, have photoshop as well but rarely use it. no.gif

I prefer paintshop over photoshop cos it's easier to use, more straight forward.
Scorpio
Ah ok. I asked cos i'm getting photoshop and wondered why others on here dont use it as often as the programs. Hopefully i'll be able to get my head round it. I think knowing one program already might give me a head start.. shrug.gif

I'm just downloading Terragen again. I loved making landscapes with that prog, I'll give it some real time to figure it out this time around.

There we go...60 seconds work.

How did you make that?

Just by messing with the settings for sky and land.

The fun starts when you add water and use the sqirlz prog.

Terragen (free)

hang on two secs and I'll dig up the sqirlz prog...another freebie (Thank you babylon)

Just put the sun height below the horizon for that trick
Scorpio

That can happen, it's best to use clouds or rain etc, then the shading gets hidden...hey it's free we aren't gonna get top range progs for nothing are we?

That's the full name, you did well to get 11 free,

the latest is Paintshop pro photo X2 and to be honest I haven't found anything

different from 11 yet, apart from the workspace.

Like I've said, I'm going to do some serious looking at that program. If I find somethinmg worth speaking of, you'll be the first to know.
Harlequin
I was trawling for free animation progs and came across www.cdearth.com. It's supposed to be an animation CD and one or two other freebies too.

I'll get back to you when it arrives and do a report. It might be worth sending off for it, it might be a dog of a prog. I'll keep you informed.

I'll be keeping watch to see what you think, I need a better program for animation

I recieved a dispatch e-mail yesterday. should be here in 8 days they say.
Harlequin
The CD Earth has arrived, and it's -wait for it- a promotional thing "This is free, do nothing and we'll send hundreds more at $5.99 a month" There had to be a catch somewhere, but I think we can avoid getting loads of crap I'm sure. thelounge_dance3.gif

I'll load the CD on later and give it a looksee.
Harlequin
OMG!

I'm going to need a refresher course in quantum physics to get a grips of this.

It's nothing like windows, and it says so in the history of the program. It's been developed "open source" so one can assume some real heavyweight programmers have had a hand in it.

I may well be completely out of my depth. ohmy.gif

The whole CD thing is a rip. You can download it free here... http://www.blender.org/
Rach227
are there not any tutorials for it? I was like that with the animation shop in psp to begin with lol

It's obviously stunning with what it can do, I've just rotated a cube through true 3D...but all the commands and interfaces are just so alien to a windows user.
Rach227
wow lol when you get used to it your going to have to show us the result wink.gif
AngeCherry
