Ok so i thought i'd have a go. I've made some basic graphics in the past with GIMP but an old version and i uninstalled it ages ago. Since then i installed a new version and couldnt remember how to do anything but i've given it a try anyway.

And from the help of Tuscan and Babs in the tutorial thread, i tried cutting out a render which i'm quite pleased with. This new version of GIMP is different with putting on text though. I cant seem to put it where i want



I know its not perfect. It seems a lil blurry and not how it was before i saved it. Should i not have saved it as a jpg?

PNG is the best to save in it dose stay sharp that way..............

My only concern now is if you take part in the sig competitions then we cant send sigs to you because you will know what you have to beat ????

I dont plan to compete. But if i did, i guess i'd have no part in deciding what the comps are and everyone would just send the entries to AB

On the last sig that i posted, i tried to get equal bits of black and red in the text but i couldnt get it like that. Theres more red and a bit of black at the end . How do i make it more equal?

edit : Actually i think i might have just answered that question myself

Yeah i had to. I dont like how it turned out cos the arent equally spaced or anything. I'll have to learn if theres another way of doing text. Cos on an older version, you could set out a space where you wanted the text before you put it on. Now you just have to place a cursor where you think is the right place. Or at least that was the only way i could do it last night

I wasnt even gonna show you cos i'm not happy with the text or with what it says. I just lost interest after a while
