People tell me I am on the web too much but I do not think so. How much is too much anyway. How much time do you spend on the web?

I’m trying to cut my time down although I don’t go on the web all day long because I have a full time job. But my PC in on most of the time. The other half likes to surf. It is amazing how much time you can waste looking at nothing. I do come on BUKF every day don’t always post, some topics ware thin easily with me so I search the news networks for something interesting to write about.
Most of my PC time is used to mess about with programs Like Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, Bryce and various other graphics and video editing packages.
I’m off to Spain soon for two weeks. It’ll be nice to get away and clear my head, then I will decide my next move in life.

I love the internet and spend as much time on it as I can get. Anyone who wants to call me sad for this can just insert their pc anally I am not about to change.

I think the internet can be a god send for some people, especially forums like this. A way to connect to people all over the world, to make new friends. It gives us a chance to air our opinions in a sensible way. I say a sensible way because I have seen the way some people rant and rave on other forums. There is a lot of anger out there on the superhighway.

I agree, on the Channel 4 forums years ago, and probably still now, people would get far too angry about different opinions to their own

Since I got a PC at home I have been on the web at least once a day. I sit in front of a computer all day at work but that's boring database stuff, so I find the web a kind of release from the mundane routine of the desk job. I would love to be able to get online more often at work but the job doesnt always allow.

That was a good forum once, especially the news section, but you needed thick skin to post there.

Yeah thats it.. and threads would just disappear without reason whatsoever. The mods / admins were faceless, they didnt post at all, i think. I hate that

I agree with you. There is no point in being a member of a forum if all you are going to do is sit in judgement on others. Interaction, having a bit of a laugh and saying your own thing is what a forum is about.
I got rid of the 'shoutbox' on my forum last year because it was ruining the interaction and inter member discussion, by meaniningless one liners.

I had one on mine for a while and it was fun but it took posts away from the forum itself. Thats fine if you want just a place to chat and say "hi and bye etc" but not if you want a discussion forum

May I add a note?
One thing you see everywhere on forums and chatrooms..."I'm Bored".
I wish I could be bored. Maybe it's an oldie thing, but there are not enough hours, never enough hours. I'd love to be able to sit there and be bored. I probably wouldn't be bored, because I'd be reveling in the fact I had spare time with nothing to do.
My time is spoken for, for the next six days...every minute spoken for, and not by me. It might look like I'm never away from the keyboard, but actually I'm snatching minutes wherever I can. If any "I'm bored" types want to switch lives, just say the word.
(Yeah I know "I'm bored" actually means "Someone entertain me, I'm to lazy to type.")
