• Competition begins as of now and entries must be PMd to myself or AB by 9pm Friday 25th April.
  
• A few hours after that (allowing for one of us to be online) a poll will be created for members to vote. Voting ends 48 hours after that time.

*Good Afternoon this is BUKF Board News - here live from the first ever BUKF Sig-Art Competition I am your roving reporter Sly T Lee Interested.

Tension is mounting here amongst competitors as there are literally hours to go. Since non of the competitors are to be identified we have cannot name the competitor in the following interview recorded earlier in the gents!

"I am hoping my sig wins because I spent the whole commercial break of last nights Emmerdale making it! I have gone for a classic theme in the style of renaissance art, with some really trashy s**t in there to make it eclectic!"

Earlier on I caught up with Kerry herself ahead of the commencement of this weekends vote to crown the victor of the BUKF Sig Art Competition.

"HIYAHHHHHHH!! HIC I AM DEAD EXCITED ABOUT THE CONTEST IT'S SUCH AN HONOR TO BE THE SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CIGARETTES BECAUSE I HAVE DEDICATED HIC A LARGE PORTION OF ME LIFE TO THE TOBACCO INDUSTRY! HIC OUCH - S**T.............SORRY I'M BREAST FEEDING AT THE MO AND THE BABY JUST CAUGHT ME NIP. ANYWAY I HAVE TO GO NOW - WAITROSE ARE DELIVERING ME SHOPPING IN A MO! TERRAH!"

Thanks Kerry - as you can see Kerry is thrilled to be a part of this, tension in the crowd of 4 here is rife one of them actually got into such a deep sleep earlier they got R.E.M!!!!

You think it's a mere matter of having a few images slapped into a 500 x 120 frame!!

There's the mood to take into account, and getting ones mind-set right. I say under a cold shower for four hours to clear my mind of petty distractions and focus my thoughts. (It should have been a waterfall, but there ain't none near here).
Then there's the subject. One has to get into the mind of the person in order to truly know them before setting out to capture their whole essence in that sig. Mock if you must, but I ask, if we were doing a sig for say Hitler, would, I ask, would he really look good on a donkey with the legend "Blackpool or Bust" blazoned across the image?
Artiste such as we suffer I say, SUFFER! for our art. Hours of agonizing over the right shade of blue or eau-de-nil as a main colour?...or a bold red?...such matters can render the artisic mode quite impotent for days.

I'll have you know I went through three cans of Carlsberg making my sig for this comp, they died not in vain I hope.
