I'll be needing to talk to someone over the internet for free and he and the rest of my family have skype but in the past i've used MSN for it, ie cam and mic chat.
How does skype compare to MSN?

I've used both.... MSN isn't so clear but it's OK.... Skype when it's on form can be brilliant! but I have had lots of problems with it too....
If you can afford it, I'd recommend a skype phone as when it is good which is most of the time, it's a good source of communication...

Skype - anytime for me an' me mates. It's a lot clearer and doesn't crack up on you as much as MSN.
Still, I keep both options open.

For text chat only MSN is the best but for the good quality of voice chat you should try Skype must.
Skype works really good with wi-fi

I prefer using Skype of Mic and Webcam chatting, as it's quicker and alot less laggy than MSN Messenger.
